Chinese Composer Community is excited to share that composer, arranger, and bandleader Zhengtao Pan will bring the Zhengtao Pan Jazz Orchestra to Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall on October 10, 2026, at 7:30 PM.
The concert will feature internationally acclaimed guest artists Chris Potter on tenor saxophone and bass clarinet and Rufus Reid on bass, joining Pan and his jazz orchestra for an evening centered on original composition, large-ensemble writing, and improvisation.
The program includes several works by Zhengtao Pan, including “Endless Cycle,” “Everything Will Be Alright,” “Jade Dragonfly,” “Childhood,” and the world premiere of his Concerto for Jazz Orchestra, alongside new arrangements and premieres.
Earlier this year, CCC spoke with Zhengtao following the release of his album Day By Day, exploring his approach to jazz composition, cultural identity, memory, and the ongoing search for an individual musical language.
Now, that artistic journey continues on the stage of Carnegie Hall.
